Mice and Reunions…

Hi,

[Medical and Literary Updates: I have done a little more writing, but not much. I need to push myself over the next few weeks to finish the first draft of the novella.

My thumb has (almost) healed nicely. My whole hand is stiff when I wake up in the morning, but it gradually loosens as the day progresses. I still can’t use a mouse for very long with my right hand. My right wrist won’t bend backwards at all, so it’s tiring (and a little painful) to press down, even lightly, on the mouse. I’m getting fairly good at it with my left hand, though, and I don’t use my mouse very much when I write, I mostly use keyboard shortcuts. Image editing is still difficult. Making delicate motions with my left hand still feels awkward, so things like masking specific areas, or using the delete tool or the clone stamp, are much harder. It’s getting better all the time, though.

I’ll be leaving a week from now to drive to Austin, pick up a friend of mine, then head north to Deep Springs (a pseudonym) for my 60th high school reunion. About three weeks after I get back home I’ll have my heart ablation procedure. It’s been a busy year so far, maybe things will ease up after that. Fingers crossed.

The next few posts will be about the reunion. Hope to see you then.

Michael
