Hi,
Things are progressing, still slowly. I can type, but the tendons on the back of my right hand tighten up and start hurting within a few minutes, but I am continuing to work on the novella.
I exercise the hand several times a day (mostly by clenching it into a fist and holding the clinch for about ten seconds — that’s the easy part — then I try to stretch and touch my fingertips with my thumb). I can touch the thumb to my forefinger easily, my middle finger just barely, and the ring and pinky fingers not at all.
As far as the A-Fib is concerned, my cardiologist has me taking a medication called amiodorone (for about three months) to see if it will normalize my pulse without surgery. It seems to be working. I check my pulse with my smart watch three times a day, and it has been staying within a fairly narrow range so far (that’s good). We’ll test it again sometime in the spring and see if it will stay that way without the medication.
See you next time,
Michael
